Invocation for Inanna's Ancient Priestxes

O you holy ones of Inanna
You Priestxes of ancient times
We call to you

To the kurgarra, musicians of the goddess
Shaking and stamping and strumming
Making sounds pleasing to Her ears

To the sal-zikrum, the women-men priests of the goddess
Dressed in your sacred garb

To the kulu’u, the kalum, who composed the hymns singing her praise
The fire of Inanna burned in your hearts
As she has burned in ours

To the assinnu, you lament singers of Inanna
Swaying and calling to Her
Grieving her as she hung underground

And to asushummir, made of light
Made of dust to slip between the worlds
Neither man nor woman
You descended between the gates
To bring the waters of life, the food of life,
To Inanna, so She could rise again

O you holy ones of Inanna
Alight like I am alight
In between like I am in between
Be here now

Ancestors, we call you home

Hail and welcome!

Charge of the Rainbow Goddessx

Charge of the Rainbow Goddessx
(written by Rainbow Melissa ra Karit & the RMC Loving Moon committee)

Here ye the words of the Rainbow Goddessx,
The arc of whose beauty enraptures the soul
Whose light brings hope to all

I am the red of first blood
And the yellow-orange of the rising sun
And the blue-green of the ocean’s magnificence
And the purple of a field of wildflowers

Call unto your soul, arise and come unto Me
For I am the path to your heart’s content
That lays bare where you travel
From Me seek your life’s fortunes
And unto Me bear your dearest truths

Before My presence, beloved of all
Let your divine innermost self
Be filled with infinite possibility

Let My worship be in the heart that rejoices
For behold, all acts of love and pleasure are My rituals

Therefore let there be power and delight, enthusiasm and playfulness, transformation and magick, compassion and reverence within you

And those of you who seek to know Me, know this:
That all of your seeking and yearning shall avail you not
Unless you know what dwells within your heart
For if that which you seek is not already there, then you shall never find it
For behold, I have been with you from the beginning and I am with you always in the eternal Now

At the Beginning

Phanes is the intersex creator deity of the Greek pantheon.

At the Beginning

I asked Phanes
How was it, at the beginning?

And Phanes answered:
It was like cupping the world in my palms
Like breathing the sacred breath
into them
The only source of light in the world.
I
in the black darkness
My great snakes coiling about me
With this tiny impossible spark
Shimmering, its surface shifting
A complexity beyond imagination.
My wings unfurled
And my daughter, Nyx, curled around this new world,
cradling it
I could let go
My heart breaking with fear and joy
Giving everything for the hope that
this life would survive

To Paniris

You
Child of Rainbows
Light-hearted, You carry a message on the wind
You dance between heaven and earth
Graceful and stumbling
Joyful as You weep
You embody contradictions

Mahatala Jata

To Mahatala-Jata, the mountain god/deep water goddess of the Dayak people of Borneo, I offer my devotion.

one

I feel you on my left
Dark water snake
Weaving your dangerous paths
Unseen, unheard
Ready to emerge

two

I feel you in my center
Glittering rainbow bridge
Jewels of untold worth
Bridging the universe

three

I feel you on my right
Hornbill atop the mountain
Soaring in the skies
Unfettered as you rule the day

four

I feel you merging
The pull of destruction-creation
bright-dark, day-night, male-female
Your eyes luminous
As you twist and turn and dive
Threading between the deep waters and the high heavens

five

I feel your voice calling
I feel your voice speaking
I feel you gifted and giver
With those like me
My sisterbrother kin
Awake in the world

The Threefold Dark Charge of the Queens

Parallel to the Threefold Charge of Light and Fire, this Charge is meant to be given by a woman, a man, and a non-binary/mxgender person during the dark time of the year.

Hear ye the words...hear ye the words...hear ye the words
Of the God/dess/x
The pulse of whose heart
Runs through your veins
Whose blood is the beginning (and end) of life

I am the dark velvet of midnight’s quiet
And the grace of movement in darkness
And the enormity of all you imagine when there is no limit
And the power of the scythe

Call unto your soul, arise and come unto Me!
For I am the Queen of the darkest hour
Which gives knowledge of all ends
From Me all beings are born
and unto Me they return again and again

Before Me, beloved of all, let your divine innermost self
Be exalted in the presence of Divine glory

Let my worship be in the heart that rejoices, for behold:
All acts of love and pleasure are my rituals

Therefore, let there be beauty and strength, honor and pride, power and compassion, mirth and reverence among you

And those of you who seek to know Me, know this: That all your seeking and yearning shall avail you not, unless you know the Mystery.
If that which you seek, you find not Here, you shall never find it. For behold, I have been with you from the beginning and I am unfolding in your soul at this very moment

Reflections on Panhyle

Panhyle is the second of the Tetrad++, the trans and gender variant deities making themselves known through the work of P. Sufenas Virius Lupus and others. Here are some of my thoughts on Him and my relationship with Him.

~

Panhyle feels
like those soap sculptures we made
in 7th grade, in imitation of a long ago art:
strong, moldable, delicate, beautiful
and yes, sometimes frustrating!
(He feels like the same Artist that shaped Him also shaped me
Like what He is shaped of might make me clean,
wash away the grit and insults of the world)

He feels
like the trees feel to me
(me, with my Greenman heart):
like I am utterly safe
leaning into His rootedness
as though His embrace
sinks me ankle-deep in the Earth

With Panhyle,
I think
I could hide my face between His shoulder blades
and weep
And He would stand between me and the world
protecting my privacy
until I am ready to raise my face
Panhyle knows
about getting to decide
what is hidden and what is revealed*
He knows about safety and trust and intimacy

Panhyle, who came into the world
with his most delicate parts hidden
helps me draw a line,
to decide who gets to see me
and how bare I will be before them

Panhyle feels
like my dad, next to me in the stands
at my sister's graduation
the two of us screaming our lungs out as my sister walked
loud enough that others turned to stare:
He does not care much for the norms
and He is proud of His children
(His brothers, His sisters, His siblings, His lovers, His people, us)

Panhyle feels
like a kiss to the nape of the neck,
a lover's hands on my hips:
intimate
a shivery promise of pleasure to come
a firing of nerves
that leaves me awake in my body
I turn my head,
brush my bare cheek against
His soft bristles
And want to know more.

~

*Writing this, I had a sudden deep flash of empathy for all those who choose to veil all or part of their body/hair/face. I finally get it on a gut level as well as an intellectual level.

To Paneros

Hail, Paneros
You who break the world open with Your love
You who shatter the bonds
that restrained love of old
We honor you.

Paneros!
Bring us to the shimmering edge
Hold us shaking and shivering
At the crest of desire
Hear Your name on our lips
When we honor you.

Paneros, awaken our hearts!
AsYou are open, open us to others
Let our hearts beat
with Your joyous, flowing love,
Free!
As we honor you

Paneros!
O Breaker,
O Anarchist of Love
O Love's song and Love's delight,
Piercer of Hearts
Waker of the Soul
that wades through fear to reach love's shores
Hear us, as we raise our voices in praise of You!

All honor to Paneros, and to all the Tetrad++!
