Last night, we celebrated the Loving Moon, exploring the presence of love and pleasure in our lives. Enjoy the poetry of these elemental invocations in all their sensual expansiveness!
We
call to the East and Air
To
communication:
To
our power to say “no”
To
our power to say “yes”!
We
call to the breeze that caresses our naked skin
Soft
sighs
And
the joyful sound of pleasure shared
The
vibration of air between lips that have not yet touched
To
the sparkling intensity of that which is new
To
the East, we say
Hail
and welcome, Air!
We
call to the South and Fire
To
the passion that flares
Electric
heat coursing through our veins
Hearts
thumping, sweat slicking us
We
call to the rising of desire
The
hot flush that paints our cheeks red
To
the movement of our bodies as we pursue
What
we want
To
the South, we say
Hail
and welcome, Fire!
We
call to the West and Water
To
the ache of our hearts
Swelling
with love
Sending
waves of blood through our bodies
As
the oceans send waves crashing on the shore
We
call to the fluidity of intimacy,
the
sweet wetness of our bodies
The
luscious honey taste of love
To
the West, we say
Hail
and welcome, Water!
We
call to the North and Earth
To
the arch of the night, covering the earth
To
the upthrust mountains
The
folds and recesses of valleys
The
secret places which we discover through exploration
We
call to the power of being present in our skin
The
way we occupy troubled spaces
Renaming,
reshaping, reclaiming
Declaring
what and how to touch
We
call to our power to make each other real
To
the North, we say
Hail
and welcome, Earth!
